FAQ
Resolution:

The following assumes you have a currently supported version of Versacheck. DNA Secure X1 or X9.

Before moving your program make note of the following:

Your Serial Number:
To find your serial number in Versacheck, select HELP - About Versacheck

Your Validation codes:
To find your Validation codes in Versacheck: Select TOOLS - MANAGE PRODUCT LICENSE - PRODUCT LICENSE MANAGER
In the license manager, make note of all current Validation codes less than one year old and not expired.
Versacheck will reset your codes if they are less than one year old from first use and they are not otherwise expired. You must submit the Validation codes you wish to be reset to Versacheck.
You can see your date of first use as well as any expiration date in the License Accounts Manager.

Your Data File:
Your data file contains all of your bank accounts, transactions, payees and invoices you have ever entered into your Versacheck program.

The default location of the Versacheck Data File is "My Documents"/Vcheck/Vcheck.VDF
You can see the location of the currently opened data file by looking at the status bar at the very bottom of the Versacheck program. Here you will see the path: C:\Users\\Documents\Vcheck\Vcheck.VDF (if you have moved your data file you will see the path to the currently opened data file)

It is recommended that you make a backup of your data file.
In Versacheck, select FILE - BACKUP
You should save this Backup file in a safe location.
Data - Restore data. Restoring from a backup file. Transferring data with backup file. VCheck.vbf. vbf
http://www.versacheck.com/web/support/article.aspx?id=134

You can transfer your data from one computer to another by either copying your VDF file to your new computer or restoring your backup VBF file on your new computer.
To open a Data file in Versacheck: Select FILE - OPEN
You can then browse to any location available to your computer, including network drives and open your data file.
Network - Peer to peer network setup. How to share a data file.

Or, you can restore a backup file:
In Versacheck, select FILE - RESTORE BACKUP
Browse to your backup VBF file and select it.
Data - Restore data. Restoring from a backup file. Transferring data with backup file. VCheck.vbf. vbf.

Your data file does not contain any images, signatures, logos or custom template *.CTF files. You will have to manually copy them from your old computer to your new computer and then re add them to your Versacheck "Checkbook".

For example: If you have an Account called "Checking", and that account includes a signature image, you will have to find your signature image file, copy it to your new computer, and then, after you have installed Versacheck and opened your data file on your new computer you would then "Edit Checkbook", go to step 5 and re add your signature file to your checkbook.

After you have noted or backed up all of your required files you can install Versacheck on your new computer.
Paid versions of Versacheck will work for 14 days without being activated so you can have Versacheck on both computers while you transfer your data.

To install paid versions of Versacheck you can download your setup file here:
http://www.versacheck.com/web/support/DownloadSetup.aspx

After installing, Versacheck will ask you to "Activate". If you have an available license then it will activate. If you do not have an available license Versacheck will say "License Volume Exceeded". Versacheck will work for 14 days without being activated.
To make your license available you can "deactivate" your previous version of Versacheck:
On the original computer, open Versacheck. Select HELP - DEACTIVATE
This will disable Versacheck on this computer and make a license available for activation on another computer.
If you cannot deactivate Versacheck on the original computer you can request your serial number to be reset.
Go to http://www.Versacheck.com and select the "Live Chat" option during business hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 4:30pm Pacific time and request to have your serial reset
or
email Support@Versacheck.com and request to have your serial reset. Be sure to include your serial number.
